IT’S A NEW DAY FAQS

What is “It’s a New Day”?

From the day Inspiration Ministries was launched in 1990, David and Barbara Cerullo’s commitment to our mission has not wavered:

Impacting People for Christ Worldwide Through Media

For 20 years, the ministry has sought to achieve two primary objectives in fulfilling this God-given mission: 1) Disciple Believers and 2) Reach the Lost.

However, even as Christian ministries seek to fulfill Jesus’ Great Commission to make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:18-20), we can become distracted from Jesus’ invitation to become “fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). Instead, we end up being “keepers of the aquarium.”

In fact, most Christian television is produced by Christians for Christians about Christians. While Inspiration Ministries recognizes that we all need discipleship, teaching, and encouragement, we also are aware that if we want to reach Souls for Christ, we need to “go fishing.”

Research reveals that non-Believers rarely watch Christian television. Because they primarily watch secular networks, they typically don’t see programming with redemptive value. Fewer people in the U.S. are committed Christians. Church attendance is decreasing. More than

2 billion people in the world have never once even heard the name of Jesus. These facts grieve and challenge us. We simply cannot be content with past strategies; instead we must seek new ways to reach the unsaved. Time is short. The fields are white and ready for harvest!

“It’s a New Day” is the powerful new strategy God has given us to evangelize the Lost and impact millions more people for Christ through media.

How will the “New Day” strategy accomplish this evangelistic goal?

As we prayed and sought God’s plans and purposes for Inspiration Ministries, we turned to Scripture to study Jesus’ ministry to the Lost. We saw how often He went to the people. He ate with tax collectors and sinners (Matthew 9:10). He interacted with Samaritans (John 4:5-3). He went to Zaccheus’ home. Why? Because His God-appointed mission was “to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). In order to do this, He went to the Lost.

We also noted how Jesus used parables to teach about the Father’s heart and His Kingdom (Matthew 13:34). Why? Because they could easily relate to His stories.

God has made it clear that we must follow Jesus’ example and reach people where they are. To go into their homes as welcomed guests. To tell them stories with life-changing, eternity-impacting messages.

To communicate and reinforce these messages, INSP is offering a line-up of programming that…

  • Celebrates traditional Judeo-Christian principles
  • Offers a Biblical world view
  • Is consistent with God’s Word

In addition, we’re creating short, powerful Gospel messages to air after each program that tie into the theme of the episode just watched. These “spots” point our unsaved viewers to God and encourage them to begin a relationship with Christ by sending them to our new website created just for that purpose: www.tofindgod.com.

How does this new lineup of programs benefit me and my family?

Among Believers and non-Believers alike, there is an increased longing to return to an era when television viewing was safe, wholesome, and values-based. There is a yearning for the simplicity of days gone by. People are looking for a “safe harbor.” An anchor amid the storms of modern life. A compass to point the way. A comfortable, secure retreat.

With INSP’s new lineup, we’re excited about bringing you and your family entertaining, life-affirming, redemptive programs. We’re raising a new voice that celebrates and encourages family values and reinforces these traditional values through entertaining, uplifting, life-affirming programming, including dramas, documentaries, films, and music.

Inspiration Ministries is committed to presenting uplifting quality programs that capture your heart and reaffirm the values you learned as a child while still offering you the same strong ministry programming you count on to encourage and disciple you in your walk with the Lord.

Will INSP continue to provide my favorite ministry programs?

Yes, INSP will continue to feature programs from other ministries. Our prayer is that through “New Day,” we will help other ministries reach more Souls for Christ. However, our viewers need to understand that these programs are controlled by each individual ministry, which decides on what networks they will air and if their programs air on INSP. If you would like a specific ministry to air on INSP, we encourage you to contact that specific ministry.

How do you know what audiences want?

In addition to praying, studying God’s Word, and being sensitive to the Spirit’s leading, we also now have access to sophisticated research tools that provide us with viewing information for millions of homes across the nation. This helps us better understand what people are watching on INSP and other networks, and educates us on how to be more effective in reaching them.

Is there a Scriptural foundation for “It’s a New Day”?

When Inspiration Ministries was founded and INSP launched as a network, David sought God’s direction. He led David to Romans 10:13-15: “How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard?” Applying this question to television, David sensed God asking him, “How will they hear if they don’t watch?” David also reflected on Jesus’ words when He called His disciples: “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19).

For 20 years, David and the ministry staff have pondered and prayed over Christ’s call. This is why the “New Day” strategy has been developed: to follow Jesus’ example. To reach more Souls. To touch the Lost. To be a more effective “fisher of men.”

What do these changes mean for the Inspiration Ministries?

We seek to use television to equip, empower, and inspire Believers, and to encourage them in their walk of faith. At the same time, we are wholeheartedly committed to being fishers of men. Our objectives haven’t changed: 1) disciple Believers and 2) reach the Lost.

Not only are we continuing our ministry programs, but we actually have accelerated our discipleship and evangelism efforts, both nationally and internationally, by …

  • Strengthening our ministry outreaches, including media evangelism, international crusades, humanitarian outreaches, global media training, internet activity, and prayer center response.
  • Expanding our distribution and outreach through Inspiration Network International (INI).
  • Utilizing new technologies, such as Inspiration Global, to broadcast Christ-centered video content translated into French, Italian, German, and Spanish for millions of our non-English speaking audiences.
  • Hosting worship concerts, seminars, and outreach events at our City of Light campus in Lancaster County, SC.

Will “Inspiration Today,” “Campmeeting,” and other programs be impact by these changes?

We are continuing to develop and expand these life-changing programs by creating and producing…

  • An exciting new format for “Inspiration Today!”
  • Powerful new Campmeeting programs
  • Soul-saving evangelism specials, such as “Where Do People Go When They Die?”
  • TV spots aired throughout the day specifically created to reach the Lost for Christ

How is “It’s a New Day” being funded?

All money raised for ministry purposes continues to be dedicated to ministry activities, including international ministry outreaches, TV programs, books, training, and the monthly devotional magazine. However, by expanding our outreach, we are now in a position to attract more advertisers. This, in turn, will provide a whole new source of revenue, and help us reach more Souls for Christ.
