A Message from David Cerullo,
President and CEO of The Inspiration Networks
Dear Friends:
An epic spiritual battle is raging for the souls of our children, our families
and our loved ones. Every time we turn on the TV, we invite this battle
right into our homes. For more than 50 years, television’s predominant
message of darkness has torn at the moral fabric of our society and
negatively influenced the attitudes, values, beliefs and behavior of millions.
The Apostle Paul warns us of the spiritual battle we face:
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
places." (Ephesians 6:12)
The messages seen and heard on television shape and mold the minds and
hearts of all who watch-for good or bad. Most television today is controlled
by people who oppose Christian values and who believe there should be
no moral constraints. Television producers pride themselves in stretching
the boundaries of taste, seeking new spins that shock and finding new
ways to arouse the senses. The world calls it entertainment, but it is nothing
more than spiritual darkness.
Tragically, millions have become numb to this darkness. What society once
considered morally unacceptable is now broadcast on prime time television
every night. The painful impact is felt through divorce, drug abuse,
teen pregnancy, crime, abortion, violence, suicide, hatred and so much more.
The most powerful thing in the world is a thought. The power of a thought
is echoed in this proverb from King Solomon: As a man thinketh in his heart,
so is he (Proverbs 23:7). How simple, yet how profound. We become what
we think about. Whoever or whatever controls our thought life, controls us.
It’s a battle for our minds and ultimately for our communities and our nations.
Satan is the prince of the power of the air. He realizes that if he can fill the
Airwaves with perversity, foul language and sexual ideas, he has access to
our hearts and we will become like what we listen to and watch. His negative
influence extends over the music, television and movie industries and comes
into our homes every day. Through repetition, the world’s messages are
drummed into our heads and finally into our hearts.
God has given The Inspiration Networks a vision to take back the Airwaves
through raising a righteous standard of high quality, Christ-centered,
Redemptive Programming. We are committed to using television to make a
positive difference in people’s values, beliefs, behavior and relationship with God.
Together with our Partners, we have taken a stand-Turning Off the Darkness
and Turning On the Light of the Gospel through Christ-Centered media!
The only way we will change the world is to change people’s hearts. To
change hearts, we need to change people’s thoughts. To change thoughts,
we have to change what influences people’s thoughts: Television is one
of the most powerful tools that shape people’s thoughts.
Today, we are broadcasting the Gospel to over 75 million homes, more than
250 million people via three television networks.
We are a spiritual conduit for more than 100 different ministries, enabling them
to reach beyond the walls of their churches or ministries with the message God
has given them.
We have created and produced thousands of Original Redemptive Programs
that draw the attention of children, teens and adults to the Gospel of
Jesus Christ…right where they are…and in a way they can understand.
Thanks for your faithful prayers and the financial Seeds you Sow to make
these ministries possible. Together we are overcoming spiritual darkness with
the powerful light of the Gospel.
