The writer of the book of Hebrews says our lives are like running a marathon, and he encourages us to “run with endurance” as we consider the example of Jesus:
Since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart (Hebrews 12:1-3).
Instead of dwelling on our problems, let us fix our eyes on Jesus today! Through His grace and strength, we will successfully fulfill our purpose in life.
Lord Jesus, we fix our eyes on You today. Thank You for the strength to run this race You have set before us. We lay aside everything that would hinder us in fully pursuing Your plan for our lives. Thank You for going before us, preparing the way for us in this life and in eternity. In Your name. Amen.
God Bless You! |
