MARRIAGE

Dear Friend:

Are you experiencing difficulty in your marriage? Perhaps you wonder if you will ever know peace and closeness again. But God is in the healing business, and relationships are His specialty.

The Bible is filled with instructions on how to have a happy marriage. After encouraging wives to trust in the Lord and husbands to live with their wives in “an understanding way,” Peter gives a final challenge to both: “Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love each other, be tenderhearted and courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you might inherit a blessing” (1 Peter 3:1-9).

Before we join together in prayer, please look at this passage again, asking the Lord to work each phrase into your heart and your marriage relationship. Let Him do “heart surgery” today, removing the places in your heart that are stony…scarred…confused…angry…or bitter. He’s the Master Surgeon, and He can do wonders with your struggling marriage if you give Him all the pieces.

Let’s pray together:

Father, we pray for this child of Yours who is struggling in their marriage relationship. They need Your help to move beyond anger, hopelessness, and fear, into a place of love and comfort. Lord, draw them to Your side, and help them learn to trust again. In the midst of their pain, assure them of Your strong, unchanging love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God Bless You!
