It was a devastating time for Jerusalem. The Temple had been destroyed. The city was in shambles. Its walls were broken down, and its people were in exile.
But the prophet Zechariah announced that God was bringing change. He would restore His people and call them back home. The Temple would be rebuilt.
God promised He would “return to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD of hosts will be called the Holy Mountain” (v. 3). It would be a place of vitality and energy.
Some doubted this word. Others rejected it as impossible. But God challenged them to consider: “Will it…be too difficult in My sight?”
To respond, they needed to remember that the Lord was the Creator, the One who spoke the world into being, parted the Red Sea, delivered the Israelites from the mighty Egyptian army, fed them in the wilderness, and sent His angels to defeat their enemies.
Today, it can be easy for us to look at the trials we face and consider them “too difficult.” We can doubt God’s Promises, feel that our problems cannot be solved, or be so overwhelmed by our adversaries that we feel defeated. But God’s Word reminds us that nothing is impossible for Him. All things are possible when we trust Him! His Word is true!
Today, banish doubt from your life, and fill your heart and mind with God’s Word. Confess His Promises, and believe that they’re true…regardless of how things might appear in your eyes.
Have faith that God can do anything. Recognize that nothing is impossible for Him. Nothing!
