"He will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law." - Daniel 7:25 NASB

The people of God were worn down. Assaulted, oppressed, and pressured. They were overpowered-victims. These were vivid scenes from a vision given to Daniel. Daniel was told how this assault would spread confusion about the "times" and the "law." The goal of their enemy, the devil, was to rob them of God's blessings, distract and deceive them, and keep them from obeying His Word. He wanted to keep them from following God's calendar and understanding the times in which they lived. But Daniel saw how this dominion of darkness had a limit. It would be "annihilated and destroyed forever" (v. 26). Although the saints might be worn down and assaulted for a season, they would experience complete victory. The "Ancient of Days" would come, and the saints would take possession of the kingdom (v. 22). We, too, are in a spiritual war. We have an enemy who will attack us in every way possible. We should not be surprised if we ever feel "worn down" or assaulted in our emotions or thoughts, our finances or health. Our foe is desperate, and he "comes only to steal and kill and destroy" (John 10:10). Yet as Daniel saw in his vision, we need to realize this foe already is defeated! We must remember to stand on God's Word, not allowing ourselves to be confused regarding the times in which we live or God's eternal calendar. Do you feel worn down? Assaulted? Under pressure? Remember that you're in a spiritual war. But through Jesus, you already have the victory! (1 Corinthians 15:57) Don't accept the devil's lies, but put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-17). Stand on the Word. Seek the Lord's understanding for the times in which we live and for His calendar. Fill your life with praise!
