"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval." - Hebrews 11:1-2 NASB

What exactly is faith? The Bible tells us that it means being assured about "things hoped for" and convinced about what we do not see. As we live by faith, we find that the evidence of faith becomes more real than the evidence of our physical senses. This level of faith can seem impractical. But in Hebrews 11 we are reminded of real men and women who proved that, through faith, walls can fall down. Kingdoms can be conquered. Mouths of lions can be shut. Foreign armies can be put to flight. And so much more! Then we must realize that we're no different than these Biblical heroes. We, too, can do amazing things...through faith! How would we act if we really believed that God's promises are true? Would we be filled with doubt and worry? Afraid or timid? Feeling weak and helpless? No! We would be confident, positive, and filled with supernatural peace and joy. God's promises really are true. For each of us! Right now! He wants our lives to be filled with faith instead of fear. He wants us to be confident in Him, recognizing that He can do anything. He wants us to believe that He can solve every problem and meet every need. Nothing is impossible for Him (Matthew 17:20)! As you think about the problems you face, don't confess your weaknesses or focus on what you do not have, but commit these problems to God. Think about His abundance. He's the Creator of the Universe and can do all things. In faith, ask Him to reveal His solutions. Expect Him to keep His promise and provide the answers you need.

Father, help me to be sure of what I hope for and certain of what I do not see. Give me boldness and courage to believe that all things are possible with You! In Jesus' name. Amen.
